Mel, yes very odd that nothing shows at all for Annie Dewey. I think checking the workhouse birth registers for any details would be next step. |

This birth could be worth looking into for Annie Snr. It is mistranscribed as Dewney on Ancestry. I can't see her in any census or deaths etc |

Mel, Annie junior was my grandmother and she did marry Percy Lane and there was a daughter Hilda, there were seven children altogether. |

I'm going with the adopted daughter at the moment. The address is Bulwell which is the area that the family lived in and also my aunt can remember the name Morley being mentioned. |

Andrew it just seems funny that we can't find Annie Dewey senior or her dau till she marries. Percy is from Nottingham so the dau must have stayed around there. |

Just checked the Bingham workhouse records, and the birth registers do exist at Nottingham Archives, so possibly next port of call |

This looks like the second but with the mothers maiden name a bit wrong. Also should it not read Percy? |

Don't know! It seems unlijkely that Annie Dewey would travel to Notts to give birth, then back to around Hull, but stranger things have happened! |
