guys... i have Jacob Caldwell born1852 married Isabella Brown born 1856 in 1874 they had two childen james in 1873 and eliza Ann in 1880. I cant find them after the 1881 census.... would anyone be able to assist.. |

there is a Isabella Caldwell with children James and Eliza Ann in Gateshead 1881 but the head of the house is George Caldwell. |

i am sitting here slapping myself....his name is george.... hers is isabella kids are james and eliza... i have so many jacob caldwell's in my tree i typed the wrong name... sorry guys |

I did wonder about this one, having looked for a marriage for Isabella in the event George had died, but seems a bit unlikely in that there is no sign of James or Eliza: |

Given that James was probably born before his parents marriage, then I would go for this as his death. Several James Brown's born Gateshead RD 1872/3, but no James Caldwell |

Well, it does look promising doesn't it, though of course you need the marriage cert to be sure it is her. The above Isabella looks to have been widowed by 1901. |
