Hi
Have found Annie Diggle with father Walker mistranscribed ( on Ancestry) as Mann in 1901 (the transcriber used the surname of the family above them.)
1901 England Census about Walker Mann Name: Walker Mann Age: 57 Estimated Birth Year: abt 1844 Relation: Head Spouse's Name: Annie Mann Gender: Male Where born: Bury, Lancashire, England Civil parish: Horwich Ecclesiastical parish: Holy Trinity Town: Horwich County/Island: Lancashire
Registration district: Bolton Sub-registration district: Horwich ED, institution, or vessel: 3
Household schedule number: 6 Piece: 3609 Folio: 39 Page Number: 1 Household Members: Name Age Walker Mann 57 Annie Mann 56 Annie Mann 24 Eliza Mann 14 Polly Mann 12 Ethel McConnell 15
There is a family of Buchanans on the same page. John isn't with them in any census as far as I can see and of course he gives his father's name as Samuel on marriage, not William, but it seems rather a coincidence. I would imagine they are related somehow.
Name: William Buchaman Age: 58 Estimated Birth Year: abt 1843 Relation: Head Spouse's Name: Mary Buchaman Gender: Male Where born: Ireland Civil parish: Horwich Ecclesiastical parish: Holy Trinity Town: Horwich County/Island: Lancashire Country: England Street Address: Registration district: Bolton Sub-registration district: Horwich ED, institution, or vessel: 3
Household schedule number: 1 Piece: 3609 Folio: 39 Page Number: 1 Household Members: Name Age William Buchaman 58 Mary Buchaman 56 Joseph Buchaman 30 Mary Buchaman 26 Martha Buchaman 23 Thomas Buchaman 21 William Buchaman 19 Robert Buchaman 14

P.S in 1911 Annie's father is transcribed as Stalker Diggle!

I wonder about this 1911 Wales Census:
Name: John Buchanan Age in 1911: 35 Estimated Birth Year: abt 1876 Relation to Head: Head Gender: Male Civil parish: Wrexham Regis County/Island: Denbighshire Country: Wales Street Address: 4 McDermotts Court York St Wrexham Marital Status: Married Years Married: 9 Estimated Marriage Year: 1902 Occupation: Pedlar Registration district: Wrexham Registration District Number: 621 Sub-registration district: Wrexham ED, institution, or vessel: 38 Household schedule number: 15 Piece: 34065 Household Members: Name Age John Buchanan 35 Rose Buchanan 28 Thomas Edwen Buchanan 6 Sarah Jane Buchanan 4
Can't find a marriage for John & Rose nor children's births under the name Buchanan. Don't know why birthplaces aren't showing in the transcript. The image shows John & Rose born Whitchurch Salop and the children born Chester.

There were 4 Walker Diggles pre-WW1: our Walker, a son & grandson of his cousin Edmund, and an unrelated guy - son of Mr Diggle Walker and his wife, the former Miss Walker. The 1910 death is Edmund's son. In spite of having such a distinctive name to search for, it's tricky as it's often mistranscribed (this is from someone with Hesmondhalgh and Thirlaway in their tree). Here's the census refs for Walker: 1911 RG14PN23336 RG78PN1362 RD461 SD4 ED9 SN122 1901 RG13 Piece Number:3609 Folio:39 Page:1 1891 RG12 Piece Number:3105 Folio:13 Page:19 1881 RG11; Piece: 3542; Folio: 20; Page: 34 1871 RG10 Piece Number:3958 Folio:90 Page:33 1861 RG9 Piece Number:2851 Folio:48 Page:24 1851 HO107 Piece Number:2213 Folio:33 Page:16
