In 1945 William and Jessie are at 43 so the move must have happened before he died. |

Okay, He died 9th August 1945 aged 70 in islington Vol 1b pg 189. So, yes thats exactly right. I dont know if he was married previously, but the reason he never married Jessie Vaux, nee Warr is that she was already married. Her husband filed for divorce but she never completed it. |

Just a thought. Is it likely that someone 53 years old (1875~1928) would be in the army? |

1911 possible one to keep "just in case" ift fits when you find more info.?? perhaps he didn't marry as he was already married(as happened with my grandparents) |

Another question! Do you know why he didn't marry your grandmother? I assume he was already married, particularly as he would have been about 53 when your mother was born. |

He is the grandfather of my husband. My mother in law gave me his date of birth and his name, but as she is getting a bit senile I can't guarantee where he was born. She says he was Irish. I know he was never married to her mother, so that line of investigation is out. |
