As she was a married woman...even though her husband had died, she would still really need to use his name |

I'm pretty sure that war records would be more factual than the birth certificates! |

What is the address on the birth certs? |

Are you aware of this death? It would make the birth year 1884 so only two years out. |

This is the only Albert E Darville I can find on FreeBMD. Search period Mar 1870 to Dec 1903. Obviously the second name is different. Looked for Albert and no second initial but still the same result. |

Thank you so much for all your replies! I am going to look into the one that died in 1939, but I do know that the Albert that died in the war was born in Willesden, so I think it is him. My Nan seems to remember Grandad not knowing his Dad. |

Thanks so much for your time helping me. Yes the ones on the 1911 census are the right ones, Emily and Rose are my great aunts and I even remember Great Uncle Sid. I think Bertha died at birth along with Harold. My grandad is Harry R born in 1918. Its odd that there's a birth record for Albert in Jun 1882 in Hampstead and not Willesden. I am definately going to order that certificate and the death cert for 1939. |
