Member Since: April 2008 Posts: 44 Send Message	hi ,i,m trying to again find details in tracing my fathers birth certificate. how does one get access to local register records as im now told that i have to give details etc & they will send the certificate as i cant just go & view these.my father Alan William Gough dob 08/06/1938 Epping Essex was not registered somehow??? the nearest was same name but in heywood no relation cheers steve gough............... i always asumed i could go & view

	Not knowing Essex that well how far apart are Epping & Heywood Have you seen the Heywood birth certificate, unless you see it then you cannot really discount it. Many of us have found relatives born in totally a different place than we were expecting. Me I thought all my family were from South London, only to discover G/Gran and her 1st child were from Bristol, no wonder I had originally never found much about them. So not only not in same area but a totally different county.
	Researching: We are all of us in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars, Oscar Wilde New avatar, my dad age about 3/4 months, could have been worse, it could have been the awful nude on a rug!!

	It is possible that the details did not reach the GRO. Last time I bought a cert. from the local office I filled out a form paid the money and was given the cert. in 10 minutes but sometimes they will post it to you. Ps If they cannot provide a cert. they will refund your money.
