I am having problems finding family members as my grandfather in law changed his name, he was calling himself Thomas Mallaburn Gibson [born1867] in 1907 and Thomas Mallaburn after 1915 no birth record for either name.I know he had a daughter Frances to his first wife she was calling herself Mallaburn when she married in 1927, no birth record for her either, would info on her marrage cetificate give her mothers maiden name |

If you bought the marriage certificate it would give her approximate age. |

How do you know Thomas was born in 1867 if you haven't found a birth certificate? |

It could be that Thomas Mallaburn Gibson was illegitimate, in which case i would suggest that his middle name could have been taken from his father and Gibson being his mother, Have you got him on any early census's that may help |

Leigh | Report | 25 May 2012 23:35 |
I have not been able to find him on any of the census when the 1911 cencus was releaced and i knew he was calling himself Gibson his wifes name and children i thought it would be a peace of cake. How wrong I was but never mind he is the one that keeps me busy and up at night |
