Maybe the enumerators had never heard of Corfu!! The 1911 was filled in by the householder, so as Maureen cleverly spotted they just made a stab at the spelling. |

I imagine she was just living with Mr. Brown as his wife - there was a lot of it about!! Possibly one of them was married already. |

its the 1901 census form, elenor m brown born 1859, down as living in lancashire kirkdale at the time. |
