Need help finding out about my biological grandma. Winifred Marland d.o.b 4th qu 1919.Need info after 1937. I have marriage to my grandad and my mothers info but would like to find out if she remarried and had more children. hope im in the right place :-D

Did she marry in 1936 to Dawson ?

No rule that one out she died as Dawson with year of birth as 1911

Was she divorced from your Grandad or widow of your grandad please?


If you have her exact date of birth, then it may be possible search for a possible death before 2005 using just that and her christian name.

Can you tell us her married name please (when she married your grandad)?

Winifred was nee Marland. married joseph dawson ( dob 30.04.1914) in 1936. Had my mum (marie dawson dob 13.09.1937). winifred left my mum and grandad when mum was about 8yr old. joseph married again in 1950.
I really wondered if she had remarried or most important had more children :-S

If Joseph didn't remarry until 1950 then he either divorced Winifred or knew that he was a widower.

Winifred's exact date of birth would possibly help.

Our son was born Saturday and it pushed me into doing my Girlfriends side of the family we know her grandad was called Albinas Ramanauskas and was born in Lithuania in 1921 but how do we find out when he came to England and how ??? We do know he married a Winifred Marland but don't have the date....

at least you know the year of Albinas marriage now and that Winifred was (or should have been!) a divorcee

As fas as Janey Diggens is concerned where have you discovered 1898 to be her birth year? Nothing obvious is coming up in the births index for England and Wales but Diggens is a relatively common name in Scotland. Perhaps your best next move will be to obtain a copy of the 1919 marriage certificate which hopefully will show some details of her father which may help identify her on census records.
