I need to know the mother of Leonard Pickstone (1891 Radcliffe, Lancs.) In 1911 shows him living with Sarah Pickstone, who I thought was the mother of my grandfather Squire Pickstone also born 1891 Radcliffe. Please could you help? |

The only way to be certain that they both belong to Sarah is purchase their birth registrations. |

Thanks Pam, So who was the mother of my grandfather Squire Pickstone. Could it be that Leonard & Squire were brothers, or is my info. wrong. I have parents of Squire as James Pickstone & Sarah Booth. Another GR member has James & Sarah as Leonards parents - no mention of Squire!! |

According to the 1901 census your Squire was the son of Sarah E. who was unmarried. She, in turn was the daughter of Jane, a widow. |

I don't think you can assume that Squire was Sarah's son - he is Jane's grandson but could be the son of one of her other children. The only way to find out for sure is to buy his birth cert. |

As I see it there's such a simple solution to this problem. Get Squire's birth certificate! |

Well, I'm glad that you have a clearer picture, Sue, but do you know who your grandfather Squire's parents were? |
