It would be worth getting Richard's marriage cert of 1888 to see if George is recorded as deceased on that. |

Patchem, any other reason the military wouldn't allow a birth record for Clara? Or is it 19th C administration? |

Ozi, I have the wedding certificate for Clara Arabella in 1892. It states George Nelson Mills is deceased by then. Could not find a birth record though. She would of been born near the barracks then, in York. Nothing on free bmd? |

Hi Ozi, as far as I am aware, the Nelson was a male thing. It doesnt appear in 1841 in Ipswich, however you can see where some of the female names come from. Sorry. Getting to know my way round. Shall dispense with name clicking |

How do you know that Clara Arabella is your Clara - do you have the wedding certificate? |

Did they sometimes use Nelson as well as Mills as the surname? |

Hi Ozbird, hope i didn't offend. Clara married an Exley in Leeds in 1892 I think? Guess all evidence helps. Will try and find other bits if required. Much appreciated |

I understand that you're looking for George, Richard, but every little bit of info gleaned and shared helps track the family down. Widowed mothers are often living with their sons or daughters. |

Could you post the 1891 census, as I can find Richard married in 1891, but not Fanny and Clara? |

Ozibird | Report | 31 Dec 2010 21:54 |
Still in Leeds then. |

Only in 1891 patchem. No Nelson then, dont think George was there. So confusing? |

Have you found any of them in 1881 and 1891? |
