Artbeat, I think you have found me 2 possible death dates for George Faulkner - why did these not show up on FreeBMD? Thank you so much - I won't feel so bad sending for 2 certs when they are such strong possibles! |

The date of Oct 1843 against Mary Jane Ann is her baptism date. It might be worth sending for the film of the baptisms to view at your local Mormon Church. The original may well contain a note of the date of birth. They don't always show dob but some do. |

That's defintely the right people in 1851 - George Cole was born in Devizes in 1825. The age of 8 for Mary Ann Jnr ties up with a birth date of 1843, but her mother definitely married George Cole in 1842! |

I'm getting more confused by the minute! If Mary Jane Ann Faulkner was born in Oct 1843, this is a full year after her marriage to George Cole! The marriage cert for that, by the way, is on BMDshare.com. |

If that is the correct family then i am becoming confused with the marriage date. |

Artbeat, is Case a mistranscription? I've just looked at the 1861, but it's at the bottom of the page and there's only Frederick G below George and Mary Ann - can't look at the next page on here, so not sure if I'm looking at the right one. - is ot 13 Crown St Reading? If its showing Mary Faulkner daughter-in-law, this must surely mean step-daughter? |

if above is correct then this is odd. |

Thanks Kay, that clears up the quarters question for me. Mrs Grumpy, the 1841 shows him as a carpenter, so that's quite true, he could have been away from home. |

GRO quarters only mean the quarter they were entered up in to GROindexes, the event may have taken place just before, |

Sorry, Nickydown south - I'm having all sorts of problems today - I suppose he could have been the Epsom death, although there don't seem to have been any other connections with that area. |

A marriage is registered in the qtr it took place...unlike births that can be registered up to 6 weeks after the event, so the freeBMD entry matches the IGI entry Richard gave you of the marriage taking place on 24th May.......2 weeks before the 1841 census was taken, |
