What do you think the chances are of this being her in 1841.???

I was getting nowhere with Elizabeth. It was only when I started looking for Francis that the marriage 'popped up'.

Hello again Choccy..... Just had a look at the marr. on ancestry. & the 1841 census..... It all looks to make sense now.
Its looking like Elizabeths mother Francis had a child out of wedlock, Hence maiden name Buttle. Elizabeth probably considered Frances Scuffham as her father, having known no other.
Next step is to find parish records for Diss, Norfolk to find Elizabeths birth.
I had spent ages trying to sort this out & you manage it in less than an hour. Think I will have to go for some tuition.

I'm not coming up with anything that helps at the moment.

Your best bet would be to get one of the marriage certificates which 'should' give her birth surname.

Clever you Choccy...... She had a daughter Ellen Hurring born 1848....not with her so could be a clu to father maybe!
