Apologies....apologies....apologies........for going walkabout....... :-(
Like others, I have been busy with so many other things at the moment. I tend to spend ages looking through the Goddard-Fenwicks and trying to make some sense out of them. Today, I have spent hours on my desktop, putting a PowerPoint together. The darn computer went on go-slow, so everything was taking twice as long as it should..........grrrrr
With the nicer weather, I am also trying to join OH on some of his walks. He needs to keep his mobility up and so, when the sun shines....................................off he goes!
He has had some neuro physios calling at the house helping him to ease the pain in his neck and they have worked wonders. So much is due to posture, so I am having a great time nagging him to do his exercises! :-D
I feel so sorry for your husband Sue, he must be in so much pain with his neck problem. Hope it all sorts itself out soon.
Arthur, you sound really busy with a great variety of things..........which is good as it keeps the old grey cells ticking over. Very good news about your PSA too :-)
Do hope Reece is doing okay and managing to keep her chin up..... <3
We'd better keep busy on here - can't have Ven. Robert being depressed now, can we? ;-)
Sally, hopefully, the storms on the boards have passed over........human nature being what it is though......I won't hold my breath. :-(
Anne....get right back here and no huffing............. ;-)
Hope I won't be away as long this time........love to all......Cx <3

I am considering joining Robert - I may look for a vacant shell (as long as it has Sky & Wi-Fi (poss a fire too)
Need a few home comforts
Some of the things that seem to be RR'd or reported seem quite stupid - as I said previously - if you don’t like what is being said just leave it alone - let the others get on with a debate
I find it easy to walk away & not get involved - have enough of that where I work at the moment - If I had the money & opportunity I would leave. I need a big lottery win.
I like the work & some of the people but at times like these office politics is doing my head in - I am getting far too old for all of this nonsense
Take care all

Dear friends,
Yes, trying to keep my chin up! Simon has now had the last treatment and must wait for awhile for the outcome, but he is very optimistic and looking forward to getting back to work and fishing.
I leave for Dorset on Wednesday, 29th so will be offline for a couple of weeks as everything is going into storage and I will be staying with younger son and his family while awaiting the completion of my new home.
Packers arriving tomorrow at 8.00am so am feeling a bit nervous now. The garden is looking beautiful though and I wish that I could take it with me!
Looking at your work on Diane, Cynthia, makes me want to go back to searching for my David Jones b. c1790! Pages and pages of censuses in the name!
Perhaps when I get back on line you will have found her - everyone searching sounds so helpful and kind.
I wonder if Diane changed her name and also if the remittance she received stopped when she married. If it came through a solicitor it might be just(?) possible to trace it. Or even a bank - so many of them have kept records. I say this because I have a relative (b.1840 in England) by marriage in Australia who also received a private remittance while in the Navy and it continued for some time when he emigrated to NSW. Might not be any help but just a thought.
Anne, hope things improve for you - must be a shell or two where you live?
Sue and Sally best wishes for your dear OH's - I know how you must be feeling and send my love.
Cynthia please thank Evelyn for her kind thoughts when you are in touch with her.
To you all I send my love and all good wishes for now.

Good luck with the Move Reece - would love to send a welcome to your new home card - but it will have to be ib thought.
I am sure the garden in your new home will be lovely
I think a lot of things go through bad patches for a while - and this one we both have to push out of our lives
I am sure there is a lovely shell just waiting for me - with such lovely weather its hard to find them as they hide.
Wait for a few more clouds & i will go looking..
Cynthia please do not swoon - I have 5 whole days off work in June (last week) as its our 15th wedding anniversary. We are not going anywhere just staying at home - if we can find a little spare cash we may be able to do a bit of decorating.
On the other hand we may go out for a day - looking around for somewhere different.
Take care all

My word, 5 days off work? You'll be going into a decline soon Anne..........will you cope? lol :-D
It's our wedding anniversary at the end of June too.......45 years for us. I find it incredible to think that it's been so long. My OH nearly died when we had been married for 15, so every year (day) is a blessing :-)
Reece, I do so hope that it all goes well on Wednesday and I can understand your nerves. Hopefully, you will settle down fairly quickly. It's good to know that your son is staying so optimistic - well done him....... :-)
I hadn't thought about a solicitor/bank connection with Evelyn's mother, but it's worth considering. Thank you for that. Good luck with your David Jones by the way..... :-D :-D :-D
What a glorious weekend it was, I wonder if that was our Summer ? :-S :-S
Keep well all and take care.........Cx <3

Hi Sue, and everyone
still cooler than normal here, and rainy :-( :-( :-(
I hear there was an earthquake of the coast of Wales on Wednesday ........ 3.8 magnitude. I was glad to hear there was no damage form the 'quake
We're going away on Saturday ........ going to a meeting in the Interior of BC, this one involves both OH and myself, so should be fun.
Keep your fingers crossed that the weather improves ........ we have to cross 2 mountain passes, one of which is very high.
We'll be back late next week.
take care everyone

Hi everyone
Hubby is doing Ok we have been for CT scans and MRI"s this week ,just have to get results but we already know from his scans in 2007 ...they can only get worse .
I have got the most rotten cold ,it has knocked me around about this week but still managed to get on the net yesterday.
Things seem to have gone quiet today with all the reporting of threads or have I spoken to soon,I always catch it the next day being so far away in OZ.
I wish it would all go away too much of it now ...spoiling the site really.
My message to Genes went out this afternoon so we wait for the reply,i don't know what good it will do but we can try to weed out the bad apples I suppose Edited portion
Off to watch Time Team in my nice warm house. Drop in later :-).
Love to you all <3
Keep smiling Sylvia :-D

It’s the 4th June - the sun is shining - summer may be on the horizon - work seems to have calmed down a bit so we can all breath again now

Relax Sue,
There are too many things happening on the Boards at the moment which should not be happening and the innocent ones like you are being pulled in.
Hopefully the decent people will come out on top and the friendly Boards will return.
Robert.

Hi Robert
I must admit my portion on the the post was a bit over the top but I am fed up with all this mindless violence that is happening all over the World OZ included.
My roasting was warranted to a degree but the hatred I coped was not ,I will reply soon but I am to upset at the moment and I may put my foot on my mouth again.
Sue :-(

Sue - take no notice - small minded people are not worth bothering about
You have never offended any of us on here
I nearly had to reply to a thread the other day and then decided not to bother as it would have been taken the wrong way by at least one person
You cannot have a good old fashioned debate without someone taking a pop at you for one reason or another.
I hate office politics as that cheeses me off too .
I use to love my job – but they keep moving the goal posts & one min you get told to do it this way & next its all changed – but no one told anybody.
Listen to Robert & I – we want you to stay on here.
Society has changed so much these days & everyone seems to be out for what they can get – no matter who they tread on to get there –
I really want a time machine to go back to the good days when people respected each other
We love you Sue – we wouldn’t be on this thread if it wasn't for you

This is why I was keeping my head down a couple of weeks ago Sue - too much unnecessary aggravation on the boards. I love a good old debate about various things but, sometimes, it's best to stay away from certain threads.
Come on girl, chin up and all that - we have known you for a long time and don't want you to get into a twist because of someone who seems to be annoying many folk. <3 <3 <3 <3
The weather has been glorious for a couple of days now.......but I am not a sunworshipper....I just like to sit in the shade and watch the sun - if you know what I mean. :-D
OH has altered the timing of his meds and he is now ready for off at about 9am.. :-0
We have had some nice walks and then I do my jobs later - instead of the other way round.
This morning, I dropped him off, brought the car home and then walked to meet him. We are fortunate to live on the edge of a country park and it was wonderful to stroll along the country lane. I paused at a gate overlooking a field. The sun was shining, the birds were singing, the trees and grass were as fresh as could be - it was absolute bliss. As I stood there, gazing around in the peace and quiet, I just thought to myself - who needs to go abroad when we have all of this right here on our doorstep? :-
Went out to lunch with a friend which was very nice and have arrived home wondering what to do next. Hmmmm.....I have some typing to do for OH and, maybe, I could spoil myself by cleaning out the kitchen cupboards.... :-D :-D :-D
Take care all.........Cx <3

Oh dear - I seem to be in the dog house with you Sue
Some times its good to have a bit of a rant & I did enjoy my little outburst yesterday - felt so much better – just cleared the air a bit for me anyway.
However even though it was not pointed at anyone specifically & meant in very General terms - it upsets someone somewhere - that was not the intention whatsoever - but it seems i have too
Never mind - lets all try & stick to safer topics shall we
Problem is – what is a safe topic these days (answers on a postcard please) - some people seem to take offence at the slightest little thing –
AND BEFORE ANYONE TAKES OFFENCE AT THAT REMARK- ITS A GENERAL COMMENT - NOT ABOUT THE SUBJECT THAT WAS IN DISCUSSION AND I AM NOT SAYING THE ORIGINAL COMMENT WAS RIGHT OR WRONG EITHER – I SAW BOTH SIDES OF THE ARGUMENT/PROBLEM TOO AND I DO NOT INTEND TO TAKE EITHER SIDE
I agree with Cynthia - what has happened to us having a good old fashioned debate - where you can have a good heated discussion without anyone actually throwing their toys out the pram & RRing people. You both use to walk away still friends after each stating their points & go & have a Wimpy or drink somewhere & no-one was hurt or upset.
Anyone got a juicy topic to start the weekend off
I think fictional TV programmes or Novels may be a good start - As its all peoples own personal opinions
Who do you think should be the next Dr Who?
Who was your favourite Dr Who & why?
A good debate – nothing too controversial in any of that
Oh I heard a funny conversation on the bus last night
A chap & a girl in front of me -
As they sat down she got a novel out to read “OMG he said to her I thought you had stopped reading 50 shades as it was rubbish” She said “ I did, it was Sooooo boring “ He said “but that’s the third book isn’t it” – “Yes” She said -
“So why have you got that one then did you skip the second one?”.
“Well not exactly” she said “the first one was so boring i had to read it to the end to see how awful it got , then I thought perhaps the 2nd one is going to get better – so I bought 50 Shades Darker & after I had read it through, OMG its worse than the first, what a waste of money” He said – “ so why have you got the 3rd one then” She said “ because I didn’t think it could be worse than the first 2 “ “so” He said “and is it” “Oh Yes” She said “ but I just want to see how bad it gets so i can tell everyone not to buy it”
I got off the bus with a smile on my face
