Is there a similar Baptism record for Charlotte Lewis (Mantle) dob 1988?
I'm trying to find a matching death record for Edward James Lewis as according to 1891 census Louisa Lewis was a widow. If that is true then Edward James Dad would have died between 1890 & 1891.

Also, another point - re your 1891 missing entry. Unless they were really well off they probably would not have had a honeymoon. Marriage in those days for the working classes was quite often a fairly low-key affair ...

I think I've come to a bit of a dead end. Can't find a record of a marriage. On the birth index for Charlotte Lewis & Edward C J Lewis it doesn't cite parenthood, do you need the birth certificate to find this out?

Charlotte Mantle 1888 born to Louisa Sarah Mantle 1865 who then was listed as Charlotte Tilbury (1901 census) after Louisa married Robert J Tilbury (1891).
But I can't track down Louisa or Robert in the 1891 census so perhaps they were away on their honeymoon!?

Charlotte Mantle definately daughter of Louisa Sarah Mantle 1865 but not sure about the father, that is the mystery.

I have found a Charlotte Mantle dob in 1891 Census staying with Grandparents in Chislehurst, John & Charlotte Wells. Is there anyway of finding if this is the same family?

Now looking at baptisms. Charlotte's shows as Mantle - daughter of John and Charlotte ... born 3 Feb 1888, address is 16 Luxford Street, Rotherhithe New Road. John is a labourer.

Louisa Sarah Mantle dob 1865 Islington shows on the 1881 census. I can't find her at all on the 1891 census or Charlotte Mantle / Tilbury (1888)
There is a marriage record for 1891 to Robert J Tilbury.
She emerges on the 1901 census married & with 5 children.
Charlotte Tilbury born 1888 is named as Charlotte Mantle on the birth certificate. Edward Tilbury born 1890 has Tilbury surname.
Any ideas?
