Thank you Christine I have noted the details you put on my other thread, but I do not think there is any use me trying to find the birth of Lucy/Louise/Louisa Bennett 1867 if you experts cannot find her, what chance do I have? |

Do you have a Latter Day Saints, Mormon Church Research Centre nearby. If so you can order in Parish Register and Census films for viewing -there is a charge, but reasonable. Go to Family Search International>Film search>enter locality and all that has been filmed for the parish will be listed. Not only Parish Registers but Vestry records and other useful things. Some public repositories also have this facility. Here in NZ the NZ Soc of Genealogists Research rooms can order them in for you to view. Hope this helps, regards, daphne |

On one census return she says Lyth Hill (Shrewsbury) and another she says Cressage (Shropshire) she was called Lucy when she registered her illegitimate daughter Annie in 1894 Lucy on her death certificate in 1940 but Louisa on her marriage certificate to William Shotton in 1895 when she signed with a X |

Unfortunately no, when I first did this family history over 20 years ago I thought this was her, I did not start again until recently and to my horror I found out that the person I had thought was my g.grandmother was not, this Lucy Bennett & family moved to Birmingham and she died there in the early 1900's. |

Sylvia thank you for this information, unfortunately I do not have any idea where she was born, I assume it was in Shropshire as the family never moved far after she was married, on her marriage certificate she states her fathers name as John Bennett labourer. I find it strange that she had her daughter in 1894 (My Gran) and her only other child a boy in 1901 surely there must have been others who did not survive, but where do I start to look for them? |

Lucy did not have a lot to do with her daughter (according to my mother) because her daughter had lots of children she actually died giving birth to her 13th live baby in 1936 Lucy did not die until 1940 |

The Lucy Bennett born 1867 to John & Martha Bennett Simpsons Square was the person I thought was my G.Grandmother but I have recently found out she IS NOT MY LUCY. and the Louisa Bennett born Bridgnorth IS NOT MY LUCY the Lucy Bennett born Cressage 1868 & Louisa Bennett 1868 Shrewsbury may be her, but I can find no record of her birth registration/christening, I do know by her marriage certificate her fathers name was John but that is all - any help would be most appreciated. |
