Extracted marriage records don't list children. "None" doesn't mean there were no children, it means that the original source record had no information pertaining to that field.

If you want more proof, look for David and Sarah Stamp in later censuses. You'll see Sarah's brother Henry Goodey is living with them in 1851 and and Edward Goodey is there in 1861.

The only Job born c1825 in Ware on the 1841 census is Job Stamp. After this, there's no sign of him.

From that I concluded Job Stamp and Job Wren could be the same person.

I delved into it further and found Job's mother, Sarah Wren(n) married David Stamp 2 years after he was born, thus confirming my theory.

Hi Tokan,

I don't think any of us can find Job Wren in 1841.

I am intrigued as to where Rose has got this Stamp surname from. Does it mean anything to you?

She will get back soon with an explanation, she is a good lady.

sometimes

I think a lot of them did, at least while they lived at home.

but it also depends who gave the census enumerator the information ......... whoever did that might not have known that Job was not Stamp's son.

and there were no formal adoption procedures until mid 1927, so one can't find documents before that date.

Where's his brother? How do you know Henry is his brother?

Any chance his mother Sarah remarried? Not seeing a Job Stamp on later censuses.

I think Job was a name on its own, but could of course be mis-heard and mis-transcribed.

Who are his parents?
