Does anyone know if there is a way I can find my grandmother's birth certificate, I have her date of birth, but not sure where she was born. |

Thank you for replying. Her name as I know it was Jessie Tedstone, she was born 28 September 1894, her father''s name was Thomas Frederick Tedstone, occupation groom/domestic. This information was all on her marriage certificate and perhaps was not entirely accurate. The only other information is that she was born and brought up in the Birmingham area, she told me Halesowen. She told me her mother died in childbirth and father was kicked in the face by a horse and subsequently died shortly after. She was brought up by and Aunt and Uncle the names I do not know. |

Theres this one....... year is 2 years out to your information but you could order it stating Thomas as father, if it isn`t the correct one you will only be charged £4.00 |

Stourbridge - the registration on the 1892 birth for Jessie, is the registration district that covers Halesowen, where you said she was born and brought up. |

It looks as if the John Hadley marriage to Annie Bradford is the correct one. |

Hi all you wonderful people who have spent your time trying to help me to solve the mystery about my Grandmother Jessie Tedstone. The information your have given me is invaluable. I don't know how to contact you individually so that I can discuss your findings. However one message I received was from 'Rose'. As a child my grandmother told me of her awful childhood being brought up by an Aunt Annie, her daughter Beryl who used to wait for her after school and beat her up and her brother Denis who was cruel to her as well. This Hadley family seems to be the jackpot I have been looking for and at long last. Also the connection with the Bradford famiy makes sense. A Jennie Hall (nee Bradford) rescued my grandmother from the Hadley family as she was being so mistreated and took her from them in her early teens to live with her in Accrington |
