I am looking at the 1841 census image for Thomas Pleastow on Ancestry and I cannot make out his occupation. Can anyone with a better pair of eyes than me read it please. It is the 7th name down on the right hand page. |

Sound' s like a good link..from "Cooper" [barrell maker] to Wine cellarman]. Possibly too old to continue with his craft which was difficult and strenuous. |

DOB was about 1892. Don,t know where he was born. 1841 says he was born outside county. The name is actually Plested. There was a Thomas Plested born about the right time in Buckinghamshire. |

I am returning to this thread as I have just noticed that on MY GR tree I have Thomas Plested married to Sarah Ford at St Botolph Aldgate on 21 July 1817. I cannot remember wher I found this info and cannot find it now. Sarah was a widow in n1851 living with son, Henry and his family. She was Sarah Wiltshire, widow. Husband Thomas died in 1849 which doesn't leave much time for Sarah to mary and be widowed again, so I assumed that Wiltshire was her maiden name. To confuse matters, on the family tree on my PC , I have her as Sarah Wiltshire, or Anthony. Again I cannot remember whhere I got the info. I am getting old and forgetful, so can anyone help? |
