My problem is going to be sorting out which (eg) William or Joseph was in trouble and when ........ as my family were very unimaginative when naming their children. The same names crop up generation after generation, and within the same generation.

It isn't easy when there are no approximate birth years!

but lots of browsing to do!

Rose, thanks. I wouldn't mind knowing a bit about John William Eccleston 1874 if that's OK. There aren't many Birmingham Ecclestons so good chance he is one of mine! Thanks very much.

Hi Rose, yes please, thanks for your kind offer.

Could you please look up my ggg grandfather, Henry Godfrey who was in trial at Middlesex, May 1832? I hope it would be different one for getting his family names.

Thanks, Steven.

Rose, a very kind offer to look up in these records, thank you.

I've found these on the free search, but don't currently have Premium Ancestry to be able to look at the record, please could you look for me.

Joseph Goodchild birth date abt 1829 trial date 5 Jan 1847 Buckinghamshire, England
David Goodchild birth date abt 1830 trial date 5 Jan 1847 Buckinghamshire, England

I imagine they were tried together.

EDIT - another kind GRer, David, has just seen my request on the thread and done the look up for me, thank you anyway for the offer.

Many thanks,

Helen

Hi Jan

There's only one George Eccleston but he is in Lancashire 1883 so probably not yours.

add...there is a john William Eccleston Birmingham if he crops up as one of yours , in 1874.

Rose, don't want to take advantage of your good nature (well, actually I do!) but could you please see if my ancestor George Eccleston figures around 1871? He was born 1856 in Birmingham if that helps.
Thank you!

Rose,
Thanks for the PM and for the info. The first one was sort of what I expected. Second one was a bit of a shock!!
Is there more info there, as I am thinking of upgrading my Ancestry sub. Have been thinking of doing it anyway, as I stopped getting parish records when I last renewed, but was going to wait until the London records were further advanced. Am wonder whether to bring plans forward.
