I believe so - the blurb under the search screen spoke of a link to images taken of the collectionscanada microfilms. The possibly cheaper alternative would be to check first at your local library or LDS FHC to see if you could access Ancestry that way.

I had a look at Canada 1891 (April). However, there weren't any likely hits for Emily.

Search for Ann* Warn* 1883+/-5

Lisa J in California Report 14 Jan 2009 10:22

I cannot view the record:
Border Crossings: From Canada to U.S., 1895-1956
Name Arrival Date Estimated Birth Year Port of Arrival
Ann E Warner date year St John, New Brunswick, Canada

Could this be Annie, on her way to England?

Could be coincidental, since Warner is a common name:
William H Warner date year St John, New Brunswick, Canada

Perhaps someone has access to the (limited) 1891 Canadian census?

Sandra, I had somewhat the same problem. While searching my ancestors, I knew one ancestor was born in "England" (THAT narrows down the search, eh)? Luckily, I knew where (in Canada) he was buried and upon writing to the manager at the cemetery office, I found out more details about him which included Place of Birth: Hatfield, England. While that narrowed down the search, there were 7 Hatfields in England in the 1820's. :(

Anyway, is it possible to write to where she is buried, in hopes that her actual place of birth would be mentioned?

fair enough - I am really dull at sums!!!!

MargaretM

MargaretM Report 13 Jan 2009 15:29

But, Ann, she wasn't born until 1883 and didn't become a Kidney till she married one in 1903.

AnnCardiff

AnnCardiff Report 13 Jan 2009 15:12

that's the 1881 census by the way, not dob!!

MargaretM

MargaretM Report 13 Jan 2009 15:08

no nor could i margaret .. thanks for looking //

ann .. i don't think she was born in 1881

i'm so disappointed now .. i had been putting so much stock on the 1911 being the key to finally finding her and hers

MargaretM

MargaretM Report 13 Jan 2009 14:46

I can't see her on either the 1901 UK census or the Canadian one.

Sandra

Sandra Report 13 Jan 2009 14:19

thanks guys ...

i have her marriage cert and her daughter (my GGM)'s birth cert .. both of which say her name is

annie emily warner (kidney by marriage)

she was married in 1903 to sidney walter kidney in fulham london (both their addresses listed as 26 harwood terrace)

her father at time of marriage was deceased .. he was william warner , occupation, attendant at asylum .

on the 1911 census, she is just emily kidney, age 27, born in canada

would be VERY grateful for any help or tips

MargaretM

MargaretM Report 13 Jan 2009 14:11

I would suggest you buy her marriage certificate so you can get her father's name.
I presume she's Annie Emily Warner who married in 1903 in Fulham?

AnnCardiff

AnnCardiff Report 13 Jan 2009 14:08

how do you feel about putting some details on here in case someone can find what you are looking for?

Ann

Sandra

Sandra Report 13 Jan 2009 13:55

thanks ..

all it says on 1911 ensus is birthplace ; canada

i couldn't work out the automated genealogy site .. i'll have to keep trying.

i've trawled through all the annie warners, and emily warners on the british 1901 census but none born in canada... i'm presuming she was here in 1901 as she married in 1903... i was so looking forward to the 1911 census so i could find her ... typical!

MargaretM

MargaretM Report 13 Jan 2009 12:59

Do you know which province she was from, Sandra? There are different sites with BMD's for different provinces.
BTW. Automated Genealogy is up and running again.
