Hello Brenda. I'm sure Derek won't mind me chipping in, but his real passion is parish registers, and this is a modern enquiry.

The only marriage I can find of a John T Goddard to an Alice Needham is in the June Qtr 1915 in Spilsby, Lincolnshire. I did also check for a marriage to an Alice by a different surname in case she had been previously married, but none has come up. I also checked for children called Goddard with a mother's maiden name Needham, but there are none in Lincolnshire. The marriage reference is 7a/1680.

I have found at least 3 brothers for Vincent Reginald, with a possible 4th and 5th brother, EDIT no, they are not siblings, but I will send you that information by private message as they could still be living.

Are you still with us Derek.

Blooming Heck, Rachel and her Margerison's have reappeared.

Only I've been trying to direct Robert to you, and other people have been quoting a different thread. So can you just reply, Derek, that you are still here, or give us another thread if not.

Happy New Year. Hope the snow didn't ruin your life - for once we were okay here.

Is your tent at Matlock still habitable? I found three hot water bottles this week, do you want any?

Love

Margaret

Derek Report 20 Jan 2011 08:50

Hello Margaret..nice to hear from you..yes i am still here, but I concentrate now on my "Derbyshire Parish Records" Thread on the Records Office board.
I wanted to delete this thread, but there is so much good stuff on it that it would be criminal.

Robert has contacted me on that thread and i am trying manfully to find stuff for him..but he is going to be a very lucky Robert if he thinks he's going to get a lot before 1600!!

Happy New year to you too Margaret xx

hello everybody..still around, but mainly on my other thread.....on which I am still helping my very first correspondent from way back in 2008.....Since my resources and my skills have vastly increased since then..i wondered if any more of my older "clients" who may not have been served as well as they might be now...should get in touch and benefit from my increased knowledge!!

Derek Report 10 Feb 2011 16:53

Hello MM..I may be good at this genealogy lark..but I'm rubbish on a computer..have no idea how to give you the link. Just log on to the Records office Board and scroll down till you find "Derbyshire Parish Records" with my name alongside it..I'll nudge it up now..so it will be on today's page.

Derek.

Madmeg Report 10 Feb 2011 23:11

Hi Derek,

This makes a nice change something I can help you with. To add a link to your reply all you need to do is:

move your mouse to the browser bar at the top of the page where the thread number is included and highlight the info in the bar

right click on the mouse and the option to 'copy' is given, click on the word copy

then go back to the page where you are adding your reply, click in the reply box

right click the mouse, this will then show the option to paste

click on paste and hey presto the info is there in your reply.

Hope I have explained it well enough.

Regards

Chrissie

Derek Report 5 May 2011 19:58

Hello again Geraldine.......I think my usefulness to you will be limited.....see my message below......becasue the Lewins had only a fleeting flirtation with Derbyshire. They were in fact a Cambridgeshire family..and they were in Camberwell London by 1898 because their second child Priscilla was born there.

ARTHUR LEWIN was born in Stapleford Cambridgeshire in 1874..one of at least five children of Joseph and Anne
In 1881 Joseph is an Ag.Lab in Caxton Cambs He was born Caxton 1822 and his wife born East Hatley 1832..

In 1891 ARTHUR is with his brother boarding in Croydon cum Clapton Cambs. at 67 Village Street..they ate AgLabs.

1901 Arthur has been in Derby long enough to have his first child..but noyt his econd..He is a Horsekeeper on the Trams......!! little bit of social history for you!!

Hope this is ok for you...........there is no other connection with Derbyshire..unless someone else in his family moved there before he did.....

All the best

Derek
