thank for the goodies Derek, sorry you have not been well. I am only waiting for if and when you have time to visit the RO, I sent you all the info I already have on my Nightingales a couple of weeks back. Obviously if you have been unwell the RO is the last place you will have been so don't worry about it. 2009 maybe?? Hve a good christmas and i hope 2009 will be a healthy year for you. |

Hi Sparkling person!! actually jave been doing a lot of bits and bobs today on your Nightingales.......have loads and loads of them,,but you seem to have most of them already.icluding the school records....and the workhouse ones too.....Looks fairly certaimn that your Ellen was daughter of William and mary rather than Elizabeth........but have found an interesting marriage of William Nightingale and ANN BIRD at Duffield 29.09.1805.and since Duffield is the Parish in which Belper sits......coulod be interesting!! |

Tracey..sorry..in fact the Church Gresley earlier records no longer exist, so i didn't find anything for you..But I think the 1787 entry is a good bet for his baptism........because i looked for a marriage in 1887 and 1878 in case it was wrongly dated..there asre none!! Curious. |

thank you for that Derek, that is the one I have but I find it strange that she is never ever referred to as Helen, not at either marriage or death. although I am aware the names are interchangeable. I am convinced that her parents were William and Mary, unless Elizabeth died and William married a Mary soon after. |
