Hi Derek,

All the info you have noted is correct. I have been able to do extensive research for Julia and Henry, in a most amazing way due to the different spelling on the census, but nevertheless found the info.

I am a member of Ancestry, so will look again for this probate , thought I had looked thru these records, what dates was this record ?

I had lots of trouble finding Henry and Julia on the 1841 census, spelling hopeless, found them in Lei under the surname HARTLEY.
Also very strange that some of their children were bap in Chesterfield ( as found on the LDS web site) and same children were bap in St Margaret Lei, which I found when reading the parish records for St Margaret.

I must say researching this family is never dull. So is my next step ....in my search for the Winchester family...getting the parish records for Chesterfield, or is this what you have been looking at? I feel I must find someone who has researched Julia's uncles, and have found none on GR, Roots web, Google, Ancestry. Maybe this family just disappeared , due to no off spring.

Cheers.
Karen of Brisbane

PS.. HAVE JUST SEARCHED ANCESTRY FOR PROBATE, AND CAN ONLY FIND THE MARRAGE FOR JULIA WINCHESTER AND HENRY HARELY...I MUST BE LOOKING AT THE WRONG INFO...K

Hi Derek...... wondered if you had found the info I asked about a few days ago?

Please could you look for the marriage of Thomas Furniss to Sarah Whilton at all saints Chesterfield on 2nd August 1874?.... I wondered if you had any additional information eg. Witness`s.

Also wondered if you`d found any other marriages of a Thomas furniss to a Sarah around the same time.?

thanks in advance.

Hello Derek
I am not sure whether you can help me or not.
My Grandma was Born in Chester in 1887.
Sarah Marie Callow.
I am trying to find out if her Mother was buried in Chester Cathedral Cemetary, I am led to believe she was.
So I wondered if you could find any confirmation on
Eliza Callow b 1857, liverpool.I do not know her maiden name, I am afraid.
If there was any other Callow's mentioned anywhere.
I really do realise that this is a tall order, where there is hope, well, exceptional people like you, help so many people.
Many thanks
Wendy sox1

Hi Wendy..you 've thrown me a curved one here!! Derbyshire is my speciality!!
However.I have found a bit for you.
Sarah M Callow..born Chester c 1889.daughter of William H callow and Eliza..(died 1898)

Initialy it appeasr unlikely that Sarah M was buried in chester because the family comes from Liverpool..indeed there is only one record of her even coming from Chester..The 1891 Census has both Eliza and William in Liverpool.....their childre.all born Liverpool were:

William H 1876
Annie 1878
Sarah 1889 ish!!
Frederick 1889

Its almost impossible to find eliza's maiden name although if i look long enough at Eliza's born Liverpool 1857 long wnough i might find her..at the moment i can't find Williams marriage to Eliza...
I'll stick with it for a bit

Having said that..the impossible just takes a little longer........Eliza wife of William h Callow
married liverpool 1875 was in fact Eliza Aaron.one of five children of john and sarah Aaron of liverpool.......

I'm overcome with brilliance and have to go have a lie down!

More tomorrow

Hi Derek
Wow you wonderful gentleman, you deserve a star all to yourself, how did you do that, Brilliant, you deserved a lie down.
That is great, but still leaves me pondering, why my late father used to say his Grandmother was buried in the graveyard of chester cathedral, his mother was Sarah M Callow. still I can't believe you have found that out.
Many many thanks

Derek Report 21 Nov 2008 12:10

Hi Wendy..have had a look at your tree..you can add the following chidlren of John and Sarah Aaron:-

Eliza 1854
Thomas 1857
Ann 1859
William J 1861
Richard 1868

I'm being a little cautious right ow because i have found another John Aaron born 1827 married to an Eliza..with children John Sarah Maragret and Winifred..I'm discounting them for the moment..but am continuing to dig further...

Hi Derek
I thought I would see if you could help. I have a Sarah Oldaker born in Suminsell, Derbyshire around 1801 to Ann (b c1772 in Ashbf Delaivaet, Leicestershire) but no father confirmed. Sarah married John Hall.
The surname is also shown as Oldacres. Would you be able to confirm any birth/marriage records for me?
Many thanks

Hello Derek
Wow thats great, you have a lot of patience, very much appreciated, I shall wait a bit, until you have looked a bit further, (that sounds a bit presumptious sorry) you mentioned you would have a little dig further.
I am so pleased to have your help, I was begining to think,I would never find any information.
Bless you.
