I have had some success on finding the correct marriage in the past but the one I am trying to find at the moment has eluded me is it possible that another pair of eyes could help. It's James Cole born about 1842 in Ashreigney Devon to Harriet ? born 1842 Ashreigney or Cheriton. The eldest child John (1862) born Ashreigney but the rest of the children were born in Plymouth according to the 1891 census. The problem is there seem to be quite a few James Cole who married a Harriet and how do I find the right couple without a hint to the maiden name. I would really appreciate some help on this one. |

You will need to get one of the children's birth certs, which will have mmn on it. |

I know that would give me her maiden name but I try and keep the cost down and buy only as a last resort , usually I use Free BDM and match the husband and wife by the page and volume but that has not worked in this case. Thank you though for the help. |

Now , I have looked at those 1881/91 census and didn't see that John Cole was a nephew or that he and Harriet was born in Drewsteignton. On one she has Cheriton as her birth place and on another Ashreigney. |
