After tracing my family tree for years I have now made a start on my Hubbies side and have hit a problem.
Please take a look and see where you think.
Any help or surgestions will be greatfully appreciated.


John Paterick Fuller born 1919 Fullham (I have birth cit)
He was the youngest of 3 children
Mother Honoria Touhy (born Ireland 1887)
Father John Ensor Hope Fuller.
( I have found no marrage certificate for them)

John Ensor hope Fuller laft the family whan John Paterick was only 4 years old so no info from family i'am afraid.

Going back I found a marriage for John Ensor Hope Fuller 1880 in Salford Lancaster To Helen Hope aged 23 Spinster.
( three child were born form this marriage )

He was aged 25/ bachalor /coachman /Address Brighton/ fathers name John Fuller also Coachman.

After finding John and Helen on the1881, 1891 and 1901 census I find he says he was born.( Helen also spelt Ellen)

London in 1881. Brighton in 1891 and Brighton in 1901
so I belive it is most likely Brighton.
He gives his age as 30 in 1881, 38 in 1981 and 44 in 1901

When he left Honoria in 1923 he run off with her younger sister Ellen he had 3 children with her.(all born in and around Chelsea)
on his marrage cert also Chelsea, he says he is 70/ Widower /Valet / fathers name John Fuller decased Cab Proprietor.

John Ensor Fuller died in 1933 aged 78. also Chelsea.
After going over the diffrent ages I fIll his birth year is abt1855.
( note he had dropped the hope by this time)

also if he had been married to Honoria he would not have been a widow as Honoria was still alive when he married Ellen in 1927.
Honoria never died untill 1968.

The only birth I could find any where for a John Ensor was Brighton 1855 so this ties in nicely. This was John Ensor Hope.

SO I GOT TO THINKING WHERE DOSE THE FULLER COME IN TO THIS.

I orderd the above birth cirt the fathers name says John Hope Painter Journeyman mother Sarah Hope formley Baker.

The only Sarah Baker I could find was to a Henry Hope in 1821
(so not mine) they did have a son named John born 1831 and a daughter name Sarah born 1836

In 1861 sussex there is a Henry Fuller aged 27 Cab driver
Sarah 25 and John 6
It was the cab driver part that took my interest so Iooked to see if any Sarah hope's married a Henry Fuller and sure enough there was in 1858 so mybe this is my John. with a new Father called Fuller.

I can not find any John hopes with Father John and mother Sarah in Sussex with the right birth year in 1861

I am not sure how to confirm my John Ensor Hope Fuller with his past family.

Can you give me some ideas please,of what I should look for next.

If John Patrick born 1919 was the youngest of three...........who were his siblings? When and where were they born?

John had a sister called Eileen and another called Nora we have there birth years as these are my husband's aunts.

The two in 1924 are twins born from John Ensor and Ellen Touhy, Honora youngers sister the one he run off with in 1923

I asked about the older siblings to try to establish some sort of time scale.........

Ok..maybe link is between Hope & Fuller ?

A marriage between a Hope and a Fuller...thats where he took the Fuller from.?..er?..understand what I mean?

Maybe a marriage of a sibling..or aunt, uncle?...so took the Fuller or Hope name from that and added it on.?

Maybe as a cover?

So im of the thinking that the marriage for John Ensor Hope Fuller 1880, is his fathers.

I have this birth cit and it say Father John Hope Sarah Hope formaly Baker.

This is why I am having difficulty finding the fuller part
I have looked for a marraige for a Sarah hope to a Fuller and found 1 only to a Henry so why dose John Ensor say his fathers name is John Fuller on 2 of his own marraige cits years later.

I have been looking at this one over the last few days and it dose seem to match but why would John Ensor say his father was John Fuller on his 2 marriage cert in 1880 and 1927 if he had taken his step father name, he would or should have siad Henry Fuller not John.
Do you see what I mean.

I dont wont to start going down this line to find I am wrong.

What eles can I look at to be sure.

GOT!..the christening is the key!

He was gonna married Helen hope, need to get chritened to get married where they wanted and so got christened and added his future partners surname to his in the christening!...YES!...

He was born just John Ensor Fuller..added Hope in the christening!..to honour his furture new wife.!, Helen Hope. :)

Maybe Ensor should be Ernest..or short for something else?,..Edward?
