Member Since: January 2005 Posts: 798 Send Message	I have a birth cert and where it has the mothers name it does not have a fathers name as expected but under the mothers name it has something written that i cant make out that looks like (Hilil book) has anyone got an idea what that could be. 	Only got two thoughts on this. Was the mother the informant for the birth - if not does that hold any clues? Is there anything written on the left to suggest there is Record of Corrected Entry?

	Did you get the cert from ScotlandsPeople? If so you can go back to Viewed Images and get the image again. Save to your computer.

I have had to do that several times because I couldn't make make out what someone had written on a certificate. They were very helpfull!! Betty

	Sure is doest say,,,Ilig birth written to obscure it,,,,? I dont know from that time but real early ones often have --in-fronication"mean the parent are named but not married,,,,,,,,, Edit,,Could it be --Multi Birth,,,,,,,,,,meaning as a twin,,,,,,!!

	Normally, with an illegitimate birth with no father named, under the mothers name it has her occupation, and/or (rarely) deceased.
