Just looking at the google map, as I've been researching family on the Herefordshire Shropshire borders for a while, picking out Credenhill, the closest sounding match to Ambury is Almeley which is about 10miles away. I also found a Lower Bullingham, closer to Hereford town and about 15 miles away from Almeley -which sits on the Shropshire border, of course back then, as I said b4 the borders between Hereford, Worcester and Shropshire were different to what they are today. |

I cannot think of anywhere near Credenhill that sounds like Ambury. Avenbury is near Bromyard, about 20 miles from Gredenhill. |

Avenbury near Bromyard is really a very tiny parish rather than a settlement - with very few scattered houses - near where I live - and halfway across Herefordshire from the Shropshire border. I would think it unlikely |

Just to throw another spanner in the works Avenbury Bromyard Herefordshire is only about 10 miles from Cleobury Mortimer and at one time the Shropshire Herefordshire Worcestershire borders were a lot closer than they are today. |

Another option for Ambury is Arley which is just off the Kidderminster - Bridgnorth road. |

"Do you know where Cleobury Mortimer or Bridgnorth are in relation to Kidderminster, Madeley or Alveley?" |
