Greeting’s again. ………. Dewdrop…..
Having looked at the ref to this Baptism I’m of the opinion that your Henry was a Baseborn Son of Ann Howard ........ By the way it was set out & the wording. ….. Event read thus :~
Henry Howard Born 11th. February 1806. Baptised 24th. February 1806. All Saints Parish Church. Leicester. Mother :~ Ann Howard.
I see…….. That if it’s the same Ann Howard she then goes on to marry a William Dale 1810. again at All Saints Parish Church. Leicester.
But once the Records Office reopens again I’ll check it out to be sure.
MIKE.

The reason I ask is that when I looked up the birth Registration for Sarah Ellen Kirk……… Just to get some idea…….. and below Sarah’s entry is an entry for Sophia Kirk
So Index records read thus :~
Jan.-Feb-Mar. Qrt. 1899.
Sarah Ellen Kirk. Leicester…….A 245. Sophia Kirk. Leicester…………..A 240.
Hence that’s why I asked re TWINS Although they usually have the same Ref No’s
And as there was a Sophia Kirk as one of the witnesses to Sarah’s Marriage. Just wondered if they were Sisters / Twins ?
MIKE.

Hi Houdini Mike!
I see you are as busy as ever, but am asking for another favour. I am helping someone with searching, and wonder if you could find anything, as I havent had much luck.
Alfred Alfonso or Alfonzo, married Sarah Ellen Kirk in St Barnabus church Leicester in 1919, and had eight children (have those names). What this lady has is a marriage certificate stating that they married, witnesses were Sophia Kirk and Sarah's father, Frederick Kirk. Alfred's father, who was also Alfred, was deceased by that time (1919) but had been a shopkeeper. I checked directories up to 1910 but nothing showed. Anything you can find on this "colourful being" Alfred 2, will be a bonus or Alfred 1.
Alfred 2 abandoned his family, was a petty thief and also deserted the Army, and did jailtime for that.
Any info on Alfred 1 would be a double bonus!
Thank you Mike, and happy hunting!

Did the marriage of Mary and Thomas produce any off spring? and is there any info on Thomas Bunney?
I also have that maybe Mary marries a Thomas Talbot in 1773, not sure where?

Hi Mike,How r you? I am here again asking for your help. I know that my ancestor Sarah Ann's father is Thomas Chapman. The birth cert states that he is from Seaton, Rutland, and he was a railway labourer.
He is on 1971 census with wife Elizabeth, nee ?? and 6 children inc Sarah Ann age 11 at 47 Albion Street, Leicester. He is from Seaton
He is on 1881 census with Elizabeth and 4 children at 47 Albion St Leicester. Birthplace here given as Thorpe by Water.
I'd be pleased to have more information on Thomas and Elizabeth ( she was born Knighton )
He is in Register Of Electors 1881 Poll.Dis. 7 Leicester at 47 Albion Street Leicester. He is also on the Burgess Roll for Leicester 1881/82 at 47 Albion St.
I cannot find a birth for Thomas. Thanks, Pamela

Greeting’s & Welcome………. Linda S.
Good question…..where’s page 42.?
After a long search around the Census returns for that area........ Mickleover within the Registration District of Shardlow. Derbyshire. I could only get up to page 40.. ……..
Then it dawned on me that in fact Page 42. is. ……………. The end pages of the Enumerators Book. This would not appear on the internet because it would not be of any use to a Genealogist as it’s only a summery sheet of the return figures for that particular Book……. The only Way to view these pages would be to buy the Disc for that Census Then they would appear……
But using one of my Census Discs…….. Here is a rough idea what those pages would contain :~
e.g. :~
Occupied Dwellings………..150. Unoccupied dwellings ……..12. Workhouses …………………..250.Inmates Gypsies……………………………….9.
Male………………………………….. 422. Females……………………………….375. Totals………………………………….797.
Now. ……. There is a very good Travelers web site Which has your Boswells on it…. It states that Moses Boswell was a grinder. b.c 1791. Link :~

I believe that you can register with this site ( FREE ) This will enable you to ask questions on their forums Or e-mail the web Master for further information on those you are interested in.
I hope this is of help to you.

Hi Mike
I limp onwards with my Bodycote line, two steps forward, one step back.
Robert Bodycot married Ann Cooke in the September Quarter of 1850 in Leicester and if he was as adventuroous as most of his forebears I would guess St Margarets or St Leonards.
I think he is the brother of Henry and Charles (my 3 x gt grandfather) and therefore son of Joseph and Elizabeth, but with the parallel families around there is always a chance that he wasn't! Is there any chance you could just check the father's name on the marriage entry for me?
If he is one of Joseph's boys why does he say he was born in St Lucia when Joseph's army record suggests that he never moved out of India?
There are more questions than answers as someone once said.
Sheila
