Have you looked for them on the census? Why do you think that Riecks isn't his real name? Do you actually have th marriage certificate? If not, you should get it. It wil give both their ages and fathers details which will help find them on a census.

Its not a misprint the original is clear

I think you`ll find Riecks is a German name, did his father come over from Germany?.

He married Alice Atlee in 1884, I've posted the marriage info above...

Can`t find William on the 1881 census but did find a few Riecks/Rieck/Rik etc. all from various parts of Germany.

Totally confused now Martha Elizabeth Cook is my GG Grandmother and came across marriage records and I thought William Sanders married Alice Mary Atlee as I found 1901c details Alice Sanders, so I assumed William Riecks married Martha Elizabeth Cook, hope this helps anyone trying to help, or am I totally on wrong track.

Therefore you are not looking for William Riecks but William Sanders with wife Martha Elizabeth.

When was Martha Elizabeth born so we can take a look for them on the census

Margaret Elizabeth Cook is a bit of a mystery, I have her son's birth certificate Henry George Cook born 6/5/1884 in the workhouse in Great Yarmouth looks like she wasn't married at the time. Have found on 1881c Martha Cook 1852 Great Yarmouth unmarried with a possible daughter Mary A Cook 1877 Great Yarmouth. Obviously this doesn't confirm anything for me so I started looking at possible marriages as can't find any death records for her.

William is the head and Ann Knights is his mother in law, Martha is a silk weaver.

The age is slightly out but notice that Jesse Knights is a lodger - its possible he is a relation of the Knights family who Martha stayed with before? Jesse is a cab driver and Martha is a general domestic servant.
