Hi, Im trying to find any information on Alfred Tregunno, who was born on 19 May 1910, not sure where to tho and died on 5 May 1944 in Monte Casino.

Thanks everyone for all your help. I am one of the 2 people who have him in their trees. He is my great grandfather. I got the information about his date of birth from my nan, and date of death from the army roll of honor.

She probably got the wrong birth year I suspect. Do beware of family info!

If that's him on the CWGC that I have posted, then I am wondering if Elizabeth was his step mother? The marriage for Matthew and Elizabeth was registered June 1914. Alfred appears to have died on the 5 November 1944 aged 31 - so born 1913?

Or is that death that I posted the wrong man as you thought your man died 5 May 1944?

Have you anything else at all, names of siblings perhaps?

The information about the CWGC was the correct information, Ive since found out he married Olwyn May Lander in 1939, however im still no closer to tracing his parents as cant seem to find a record for his birth.

How have you found out about this marriage? If you are certain this info is correct maybe the marriage cert will help you. I assume this is it though not exactly the same names!!

Olwyn M Tregunno remarried 1946, so not sure about that Alwyn A?

found out about it via my nan, that is the right record as my nan said sometimes she wrote her name beggining with an A and other times an O, my nan said she has no idea why she did that for.

MaureenNY has give you the most likely birth for Alfred. It looks like the age given on the CWGC website is inaccurate and that he was, in fact born in 1915. The birth that Maureen has given has the correct surname and correct maiden surname for his mother. It looks (from the marriage details that Maureen has posted) that his mother had also been married previously.

Olwyn Lander/ Reed was born on the 1st dec 1920 in redruth and the reord i have for that birth has the correct mothers maiden name of lander. She was born before her parents were married and they gave her that surname, she took on the surname Reed after her parents were married.
