Find Ancestors

I have been trying to trace my grandfathers side of the family and was doing ok until i finally got onto Scotlands people thius morning and now im more confused than ever,
My grandfather's dad was born 1893 and i found him on the birth's this morning
Andrew Donachie born 04/10/1893 his Father John Donachie and his mother Annie Donachie mmn Brodie
BUT when i look at Andrews marriage to Nellie Rielly his father is down as James Donachie and his mother as Elizabeth Donachie mmn McDonald.
Can someone please tell me whats going on.

No i havent, but i do know that his mum was an Annie as they are all on one of the other census, but the Andrew on both certs does match, could it be that the father may of remarried and changed his name (clutching at straws here arent i?)

Its the second one, so my birth cert is correct and my marriage is wrong (oh dear what have i done?)

But its not? Andrews parents were John and Annie not James and Elizabeth, and i have to admit i didnt look at any census i just looked up the birth and marriage on scotlands people so looks like i have gone wrong somewhere

I do not have my grandfather's birth cert only his death as his only recently passed away.
Andrew Donachie born 1893 Married Helen Rielly born 1887 Andrew died 1944 and Helen died 1969 this is all on the family headstone nan said that Helen was always called Nellie but i didnt know this until after some one had kindly looked up the marriage i have for them that maybe is incorrect as the parents names do not match

I now have to back down and say a big sorry, your right the marriage cert is correct and looks like i have picked the wrong Andrew but i can not trace the correct Andrew i cant find him anywhere could i have some help please

Andrew & Nellie married 06/10/1913 @ St Josephs R.C. Chapel Helensburgh Andrew was 19 yrs and Helen was 22yrs.

there is another brother john but have been unable to trace him at the moment.
Andrew Donachie married Nellie Reilly(real name Helen) on 06th October 1913 Helensburgh.

Andrews parents were James Donachie and Elizabeth Donachie (nee Mcdonald) and they married 09th December 1890 Helensburgh.

Helens parents were Patrick Rielly and Mary Rielly (nee Murphy) this is all i have on them at the moment.

James Donachie parents were Thomas Donachie and Jane Donachie but i can not make out her maiden name.

Looks like i may well have some certs to order to find out my information.

I have the certs and the surname is spelt as Donachie, but there was a rumour that the name did have a double n in it instead of one but as i said all the certs are spelt as Donachie.
James parents were however Thomas and Jane so i have to say it does look promising is there any way we can find out Janes maiden name this is the only thing that i cannot make out.

Names are often either written down incorrectly in the first place or mistranscribed at a later date.
I'm not 100% certain on the above but it's the only option that I could find. The places of birth all match as does Thomas being a labourer but the ages differ quite a bit even on the children.

Jane's maiden name will be shown on-
All the children's births
All the children's marriages (assuming in Scotland)
All the children's deaths (assuming in Scotland)
Her death
Thomas's death

You may find that even though you can't read her name on the marriage, once you see it on another document you will know it's the same person.

My hat goes off to you, its the correct family i have one of the childrens certs but its so unreadably that i just cant make out the maiden name what so ever.
Ive got a few notes to be taking down now.
