just to add. My mum was born before her parents married. She is registered twice under her fathers surname and mothers name. Her mother was a widow |

On re-registration -- I found someone a couple of weeks ago who was re-registered at the age of 23! |

I have a half brother,my mother was already married to my father, but they were living in different parts of the country. She was living with the father of the child, so he went with her to register the birth, he is on the certificate. He later left them both. |

yes its the same today my partner had to come with me to register our boys or other wise i couldnt of had them in his name as we are not married. |

I have a few illegitimacys in my tree, my ggrandmother didn't put a fathers name on her 2 marriages as she didn't know it. One gggrandmother put her grand father down, one just made a name up. |
