Hi Siobhan, From the 1882 census, my great grand parents were James Perry born in 1842 Stone, Staffs who married Mary born 1844 in Sedgley Staffs (maiden name we think was Friar, but are not sure). James parents were Elizabeth born 1799 and Robert by then deceased. Their two children were Anne and Louis. I seem to have hit a wall in trying to get back a generation. There seem to have been three Robert/Elizabeth couples with a son James, and any help sorting out which were the parents of my James would be gratefully appreciated. I am also interested to see if James' parents had other children, but this is one for the future at this point! The Roberts we know about were from Shifnal and Brewood resp, the Elizabeths from Shifnal and Swynnerton resp, but the data do not seem to hang together with James being born in Stone. Anthony.

Hi Siobhan, Here's another one for you. I am looking for details of the family of Ellen Louisa Jones. She married William Clunas in Dover in 1888 . William was in the Royal Garrison Artillery. I have all their details after 1888. Ellens father was George Jones, also in the RGA. He had died by 1888 according to the marriage certificate. The 1901 census records gives Ellen's birth place as Bristol. Ellen died in Scotland in 1933. On her death certificate her mother's name is Mary but we cannot read her maiden name (I can provide a copy if required). Calculating back from both the 1901 census and death certificate Ellen's birth year was 1869. So, I'm looking for any information on Ellen Louisa Jones, her father George Jones and his wife Mary. Any help would be great. best wishes Bob

Hi Siobhan
Thank you so much. On the 1871 census George (Alfred) has a son also called Alfred aged 6 which makes sense as in the 1901 census his son Alfred aged 36 is occupying 3 rooms in the same house. Also Alfred's wife Isabella is listed as born in Northumberland where it looks as tho he grew up. Thanks again Siobhan. It might make looking for his birth a little easier.
