Strictly speaking a surname should always be written in capitals
Example of why-
william thomas james
Could be
William Thomas JAMES
Thomas James WILLIAM
William THOMAS-JAMES
Thomas WILLIAM-JAMES

luckily much of the replies knew what i meant
