Further to this mornings discovery I'm now looking for Maria or Mariah Hill b1840 Aberystwith,Cardiganshire Wales with her mother Jane, possibly Lewis.

I've been looking at freebmd for maria's birth but no luck. Can't find her in the Aberyswith area as Maria Hill (as on her marriage cert or Maria Lewis. Ideas anyone??

Thanks Joan, that is her marriage she marries John Jones.

I guess Hill is the father, on her marriage cert it says William Hill. And from the 1851 census she uses Hill as her surname.
