Carole,
I am not the best at finding people in more recent years. Your best bet is copying and pasting that message onto the "trying to find" board where live ancestors are sought, as people there are better at the more recent records, electoral rolls etc.
I did try to look for Daniel's war records to see if a pension was paid to Sarah at what address etc, but although there is an entry for :
Name: Daniel James Graham Residence: 85 Upper Heath St, Bingham
... when I go to view the images they have been blurred as they have been scanned and I can't read them!
Sorry not to be more help tonight.

Hi Diane
I'm looking for 20th century information, and have no idea where to start, so I hope you can help me. I'm looking for information on Sarah Graham (nee Snaith) the daughter of John and Maria Snaith (nee Carruthers). Sarah was born in County Durham c1887 and married Daniel Graham in Gateshead in 1910. I know they had at least 2 children Mary born c1912 and John born c1915 before Daniel Graham was killed in action in 1916 during WW1. My brick wall is what happened to Sarah and her daughter Mary after Daniel was killed.
Sarah was the grandmother I never knew, her son John (my father) was fostered after the death of his father and was brought up by the people I knew as nana and grandad. I would love to know who my real family are. What happened to Sarah, did she marry again, have more children, when and where did she die? I must have cousins if Mary married, but don't know where to start looking.
Any help would be much appreciated.
Thanks, Carole

Kim,
I'm not the best person for the more recent stuff, have you got her birth certificate? As you know who her parents were, I am not sure what you are asking me?

Doreen,
I've found the marriage... if you order the certificate (from the GRO website £7) with the information below, you will be able to get info on Beatrice's father etc. There were several Beatrice Woodheads born in W Yorks in 1894 so you wouldn't know which to pick otherwise.
Oct/Dec Qtr, 1923. Huddersfield district, Volume 9a, page 707.
Good luck!

Kath,
where was Thomas born ? are you sure you are looking at the same person if the birth dates are 10 years apart?
If you give me at least the county he was under in the 1841 census I will see what I can do, if you haven't already had the answer....

Di - I had actually asked for information elsewhere, but after I copied it into my records, I got the dates all mixed up - and wasn't sure which which census I was typing up - so am starting all over again.
Parents Robert T Smith & Laura Ann (nee Burgess) Children Robert Chas Smith Kate B Smith William Hy Smith Edith F Smith Thomas Jas Smith
They were living in Cheltenham, Glos, and parents were married in 1872, so children followed thereafter.
I'm looking for Census 1881, 1891 & 1901.
Parents were born (approx) 1851 & 1845 respectively)
Hope you can help Judy
