Good morning everyone.
Brenda.. I have sent a message to the tree member regarding Frank asking if it is possible that we have a match.I am waiting to hear back from him.
I spent hours looking for possible children last night and it looks like Frank and Katherine didnt have children as I have not come across anything.
I had information today on my grandmothers will Dorothea. Again the plot thickens. Would you believe that there is no record of a will. Now I do know that she did have one when she was in contact with my father because she showed it to him. The will was also held at her bank.
Now I am thinking that perhaps when the contact stopped again between her and my father she decided to get rid of her assets before she died.If she did this then she wouldnt have needed a will would she. Am I right on this one?She was a very clever and by all accounts a 'sly' woman.
I am still waiting for the other certificates to arrive.Lets see what the postman brings tomorrow.

Hello Dionne, thanks for keeping us updated. You could write a book on Dorothea (if that's her real name!).

Would you like me to look for Edwin Livermores service records at Kew? Am I right in thinking that he would have been in the Army 1900 onwards??

Hi Ann
Thankyou for your offer.I did a search at the National Archives and it found two Livermores. An Ernist Livermore and Edward Livermore.I paid the fee for the documents just to check them. They werenot the Lvermore that I am after.
The only information I have to go on is what was on Dorotheas marriage certificate that being.....
Edwin William Livermore (deceased) Occupation Corporal Royal Army Medical Corps.
Dorotheas marriage took place in 1930 and she was 21 years old.
I will keep my fingers crossed that you have more luck then me in finding any details of him.
Thankyou Dionne

So really he could have been in the Army either before WW1, during WW1 or both?

Hi Ann
Yes.lol.
But again if you have read this never ending thread you will see that Dorothea told many ' un truths '. We only have the information that she gave is which is not a great deal and what is on Certificates. It has her birth place as South Africa along with her sister. I have searched and searched and many members here have helped me but I find nothing.
I am beginning to wonder if Edwin Livermore was ever her real father.
Thanks Dionne

Let's hope this was one thing she told the truth about!
All I can do is look pre 1914, and 1914-1918 and hope he is there!

Hi there Wayne
I would love to join you, lol. This search is so close to driving me to drink, lol.
There isnt really a great deal more to tell.I am still waiting for the marriage certificate of Constance(Dorotheas sister) to turn up.I want to see if the fathers details on her certificate are the same as Dorotheas.
I joined Ancestry24 a South African site and spent days searching all parish registers for possible births of Dorothea and her sister and marriages for Edwin. Again nothing has turned up. I looked in National Archives Army records. Two Livermores showed up but again they are not the Edwin Livermore I am loking for.
As I said in an earlier thread I think.I am beginning to wonder if an Edwin Livermore in the Army Royal Medical Corps did ever really exist or was it another one of Dorotheas stories??
I cant beleive that I have managed to trace the Sloper side of the family tree back to the 1600's for my father but the Livermore side stops at his grandfather.
So any ideas for other searches would be greatfully received.lol
Many Thanks Dionne

OMG OMG!!!!
I have just received some certificates.
Constances marriage certificate and the birth certificate for the child Dorothea Maud Livermore.
Constances marriage certificate. MARRIED 2nd Jan 1939 to Victor Turner he was 28 she was 32. Makes her dob 1907(Dorothea always said that she was older then her sister when infact she was Younger ADDRESS 27 Northview Crescent,Neasden WITNESSED BY Dorothea Maud Sloper. FATHERS NAME AND al OCCUPATION. Lance Corporal Royal Army Medical Corps. EDWARD WILLIAM LIVERMORE.
So it looks like Edward William Livermore was the father.I have come across his name a few times. So at least now I have someting concrete to work on.
BUT THE BIGGEST SURPRISE OF ALL...
The child Dorothea Maud Livermore born 9th may 1928.....The mother was ...... Edith Constance Livermore.
There is nothing on the certificate to say the child was adopted unlike the two children Dorothea had their certificates said adopted.
So both sisters had children and gave them each others names. Interesting!!!
Let the searching begin,lol

Either Dorothea was married before marrying McIntosh or she was known by both names ie Dorothea M Livermore and Dorothea M Squire. I have not found a previous marriage for her as I started checking when she was aged 16 in 1944
