Tracey,
There's a possibility that my ancestor emigrated to Canada/USA at around 1881. He was William Tinkler (b. 1839). I have tried the Canadian 1901 census, but with no luck. If you can try all of your sources I'd be very grateful.
Many thanks, Robin Tinkler

Hi Traci, I asked Lorraine weeks ago and I don't think that she is around to do this at the moment, so although it's not normal to ask someone else could you take a look please? It's great of you to offer to do this, I know it must take a lot of your time doing something like this so thanks in advance.
I am trying to trace the following family who moved to the USA between 1871 ( England census) and 1880. I have pasted the 1880 American census entry that I have from the free Ancestry.com site, with which format you are probably familiar, and I would like to know more about what happened to the family in America, Can you help please?
Census Place West New Brighton, Richmond (Staten Island), New York City-Greater, New York Household: Name Relation Marital Status Gender Race Age Birthplace Occupation Father's Birthplace Mother's Birthplace
Thomas LEIGH Self M Male W 48 ENG Hand In Dye Factory ENG ENG Rachael LEIGH Wife M Female W 43 ENG Keeping House WALES WALES Squire LEIGH Son S Male W 18 ENG Hand In Dye Factory ENG ENG Maria LEIGH Dau S Female W 11 ENG Attending School ENG ENG Levenia LEIGH Dau S Female W 10 ENG Attending School ENG ENG Thomas LEIGH Son S Male W 7 ENG Attending School ENG ENG
This is an entry from a few doors down and could be the eldest son Thomas.
William LEIGH Self M Male W 25 ENG Hand In Dye Factory ENG ENG Catharine LEIGH Wife M Female W 24 IRE Keeping House IRE IRE
I know that they travelled over from Liverpool in the "City of Richmond" in 1873 and have found them in the passenger lists. I would be grateful if you could help trace them further.
Regards, Alan

Miss Charlotte Greenwood born 1892 Preston England, I have been told that she went to work as a nurse companion to a RAE family in Atlantic city, I also have information that she went to stay with her cousin Mary Ellen Greenwood born 1879 Halifax, but don't know which household she is staying at.
