census look up around 1854 please.

i have been searching all day but am haveing great dificulty, james chowney convicted of shooting to ressist arrest, trial in kingston upon thames , sent to botany bay in aug 1858, it says that he was married with a child but cant find any info on them at all and i cant find anything for james parents and siblings can anyone help please. |

he was born around 1830 as he was 28 in 1857 when he was convicted. |

yeah got all that but any thing concerning his wife and child or even parents is a bit of a loss , i have tryed all sorts of searches and nothing. thank by the way guys means a lot . |

The one we found in 1851 (see above) looks a bit too young. Many people were unsure of their exact age in those days but the difference here seems too big. There is no other James Chowney in the 1851 census but that does not mean he did not exist, just that he missed the census for some reason, or his name may have been mistranscribed. |

we have a harriet seal married to chowney , but i really dont know any more i thought that was later on . |

well we have a thomas chowney born 1832 ish so i was trying to find out if james chowney was his brother as we have achowney who was convicted and sent to botany bay , |

i also know from wot my great aunt says , is that it was our great great ect grandad who faught to get our chowney a reprive and won , he was being shipped back when the hit storms and the ship sunk , he was there a good few years. |
