Hi Rebecca Thanks for getting back to me. My grandfather was the first child - there was a girl born later. Henry Walter died somewhere before 1901 since his wife remained that year listing herself as widow. I have had no luck finding his death either. So don't spend any more time looking for me. I am afraid it might be a waste of money that could be better spent on those who have a bit more specific info. Thanks for sharing your credits with us. Sandra in Ontario |

Hi Rebecca Just wanted to thank you once again, from the information you gave me of Edwin Littlejohns, I then search for other Littlejohns on the same volume and found one which I was convinced was Edwin's son. I had been having trouble finding them on any of the census' but have now just found them on the 1891, transcribed as John as surname, they obviously thought that Little was his surname, and the person who I was convinced is his son, WAS. So thank you very much, have also now found his aunt as she is also living with him. Regards, Siobhan |

Hi Rebecca, I am looking for the birth of Theresa Ibbotson, born Sheffield c 1848. GRO have done a search for me for her between 1847 and 1849 but no sign of her. She said she was 23 in April 1871 (her marriage date). Her father was Henry Ibbotson. I am wondering if she gave her wrong age and it could be 1846 or 1850!!. Many thanks for your kind offer. Margaret |

Hi Rebecca, I'd rule out Radford and Biggleswade for starters, but the others look promising. You haven't said what year the records are from though. I had a bit of a breakthrough today though - I think I've found a birth record for one of George Percy's daughters, so that should give me at least the mother's maiden name. Thanks for your time, Rick. |

Debbi in devon! Just out of interest where in devon are you?? i used to live in both exeter and topsham...... came this way about 15 years ago but i visit every couple of months! firstly i cannot check parents names on this site and you will need to order the birth certificates for the names... sorry. but.... john b robinson was registered as john berrisford robinson so this may have been his mothers maiden name. born a/m/j 1845 newcastle under lyme.. vol XX11 pge 99 elizabeth courtney barnstaple 1849 j/f/m vol X pge 22. i notice you are looking at the courtney family, are they linked with the courtney family who were living at Powderham castle, devon? i used to go to school with 3 courtney girls from powderham castle..!! hope this helps.. Mary O' gorman, i checked 1867 and there was no sigh of her so decided to check both years either side! i found Katherine Beales , St. Faiths 1866, j/a/s...vol 4b pge 85.... st faiths is in norfolk and as katherine was often shortened to kate this looks like a good suspect! hope this helps, Rebecca. |
