Hi Shirley I would be very grateful if you were able to look up the marriage of William Conyers to Elizabeth Tillman on 26 Feb 1818 in Frindsbury. I found it on the IGI and hope to confirm that William's occupation is a shipwright. Their daughter (I hope!) was Mary Conyers born about 1820/21 in Chatham. They moved to Hull when she was a child. I think William came from Hull and went to the Medway area with his work. Thank you so much. Carlisle is an awfully long way from Kent!!! Anne |

Hi Shirley, If you have time could you please have a look and see if you can find a marriage between Stephen Boucher and Frances in Rochester, their 1st child was born in 1822, so im assuming they would have married before that. Thanks in advance, Clare. |

Shirley, you may just be able to save my life! I am desperate to find the birth of Henry or Harry Lock/e, supposedly born 1865 to 1868 in Rochester/Chatham. He is recorded as being 13 in 1881, 25 in 1891 and 33 in 1901. He had an older brother, George, and his parents were Thomas and Emma Susan Lock (who I think married in N. Aylesford). I have been unable to find his birth so any help you could give would be very much appreciated. Thank-you very much. |

Hi Shirley, I would be very grateful if you could find the birth of William Holloway, it would have been around 1819-1821 and from his marriage certificate I know that his father was John. From the census records William lived most of his life in Strood but it is possible that he could have been born in Rochester. I would really like to find out his mother's name. Thanks, Jonathan. |

Also, Jane SWAIL, father was John SWAIL, born around 1835 in Chatham too. I do hope you get this on time. Thanks for any help you can give me. Chloe |

Hi Shirley, I'm afraid that I don't have much to go on so only attempt this if you have spare time!!! My g g grandfather Willie Clark DANIELL was born in 1845 at Southwood Villa, St Lawrence, Kent - this is variously described as Thanet, Isle of Thanet or Rochester. His father, John Mortlock DANIELL was a non-conformist minister in the area (maybe even at St Lawrence's) in 1845. His mother was called Elizabeth. I would like to know: - what church John was a minister at, if there are any records of that type available. - the details of Willie's baptism (he was named Willie, not William). - or details of any other DANIELLs that you come across because the spelling with two 'l's is quite unusual. Thank you very much for your help. Best wishes, Sarah |

Hi Shirley; You helped me once before with my Cassidy family and am hoping you can again. Can you check to see if there is any information on the marriage of Mary Cassidy to George H. Butcher in Medway Dec 1920, page 1872. I am trying to find out if Mary's father is John T Cassidy, mother Elizabeth Steele. It seems every Cassidy family had a Mary as a daughter. I know there is a chance that there is no other information other than I have given you. I am trying to avoid ordering yet another wrong certificate. I am also interested in any Boakes families in the Strood/Aylesford areas. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Teresa in Canada |

Shirley I'm guessing that I didn't give you enough info. What other info do you need? I don't have much at all really. If I were ever able to conduct a search myself, would I find it difficult with the information that I have? Or did you simply not see the message in time, or not have the time? Chloe (re: Corby and Swail in Chatham - non conformists) |

Clare We went to the city arc in Strood. We felt bit bit overwhelmed and had to keep asking for help. The time went too quick and unless you have the name of the church or a specific date it is very difficult to trace births or marriages. Shirley |
