Hi Di, If you can find anything on Margaret Lynch, aged about 29 probably born Ireland, I'd be very grateful. She was in Horsham, Sussex in 1903 where she married George Arthur Boyle (who would have been 27 in 1901) but I've checked the address in 1901 and she wasn't there. They lived in London after that. Her profession was Music Hall or Circus Artiste. On her marriage cert, she said her father was Joseph Thomas Patrick Lynch (deceased), a publican. She had a young son Alfred Leon, who would have been about 3. Not sure if she was with the father (whoever that was) or not. They may both have been under the name Lynch or both under Leon. It's a tough one, but it would be great for some clues ! Thanks very much, Rick. |

Diane, could you please try and find my grandfather for me? He was Charles Alfred Howe (Charles in the 1881 and Alfred in the 1891, so he could be either), born in 1878 in Old Ford, Middlesex. By 1905 he was an engine driver. My grandmother, Alice Ann Davison, was in service in London in 1901 - that does not mean that he might not be married to someone else! Many thanks, Jan. |

Hi Diane, I can't find my Grandmother on the 1901 census. Born ANNIE MAUD HOLT. lewisham, sydenham 1892. Her parents died between 1894 and 1898. The family was split up. According to her marriage cert., 1911, she named her father as RICHARD HOLT (ALTHOUGH HER BIRTH FATHER WAS EDWARD HOLT) She obviously went to live with his family. On her marriage cert., she was named Vera Anne HOLT. Just to confuse the issue!!!! I am sorry it is so long winded. Good Luck. Fingers crossed Thanks very much in advance Regards Vera |
