Hi , Sarah , Many thanks for the info re Emily Wise...could be her !! Know she was born in Maidstone... Would Cranbrooke be the place she was living or does it denote place of birth ?? Sorry to be a pain !!! Would it be possible to find a William and Mary Wise at all ?? In 1838 they were living in Union St Maidstone and in Rochester in 1864. He was a veterinary surgeon . Joyce Emily was born in Cranbrook and was living at cranbrook at the time I could only find one Mary and William Wise who were related. They were siblings and Mary was quite young. Remember this index is no where near complete. Have you tried someone who has ancestry they may be able to help you in some way. Cranbrook is between Tunbridge Wells and Tenterden. Its not that far away from Maidstone. If you have found Emily on other census what birth place does it give for her? Sarah

If you can find a Chatwood preferably Charlotte who was born about 1839 in Longfield but could have gone anywhere! Never found any evidence of her family or birth so far. Any Chatwoods would be great. best wishes Kate

Hi , Sarah , I have Emily Wise' birth cert Aug 1838 Union St ., Maidstone . Father William Wise , Mother Mary Ann nee looks like Dye !! In 1864 married St Margaret's Rochester , living in Morden St .(Emily , that is ) ....I have my Emily on the 61 living in ....she's a servant age 23 but can't find her parents on the 61 ...must check to see if they were dead .. Can't find them on the 51 for that matter !!!! Regards Joyce
