Hiya I have the 1851 & 1861 Essex census for the areas below, it is searchable by surname, but seems to batch the families together. Please only make requests through this thread, and advise me which disk you want me to look at as my geography for Essex in non existant :-) Thanks

Karen Ongar disk, Stanford Rivers Could you please look for a John Green b abt 1801 and Mary Ann b abt 1804. There children were Willliam (1822), Elizabeth (1824), James 1826, Sarah 1828, George 1829, Ann 1831, John 1833, Samuel 1835, Mary Ann 1837, Henry Thomas 1838, Martha 1839 and Emma 1840. Karen This is vague, but could you look in CHELMSFORD for a JOHN SMOOTHY, wife possibly Elizabeth. I don't know if they would still be alive in 1851 but the'd probably be in their 50-70s. Any other Smoothys in Chelmsford would be of interest too. Thanks. Helen

Karen Many, many thanks. Smoothy was my maternal grandmother's maiden name and was given to my mum as her second name. She hated it! I read somewhere that it was just an alternative for Smith, but I am grateful as it is a lot easier looking for a Smoothy than a Smith! Thanks again Helen.

Hi, This is a big ask, Please if you can help. I am looking for an Elizabeth East born about 1837, would be about 14 in 1851. I have her on 1861 Kent married to my Great Great Grandfather. She was born in Essex it states but I can't read the actual town that was put down it looks like Nesedeton? I'm afraid I can't find anything like that. She died young as so did her husband before 1871 . So too find her on 1851 would be a huge brickwall knocked down.. Any help in finding her would be great. Many Thanks Keren
