Hello, I visit Bolton library on a regular basis - they have lots of local info including workhouse records, MIs, BMDs etc. I also have a library card for Manchester Central Library and have just joined Manchester Family History Society (they seem to have loads of local info judging by their website). This is slightly trickier due to time constraints. I would be pleased to help anyone. Please PM me. Best wishes Maria |

Brenda, and any other interested people. The Maldon Library does not hold any useful info. It is all at the Essex Record Office in Chelmsford. |

sorry Benjamin , didn't see your reply til I had posted mine. I tink Norwich Library is as good as Norfolk record office for census and Parish records and also much more convenient for me! Alice |

Libraries sometimes contain copies of parish registers (Norwich does) Probably more reliable than trampling amonst the stinging nettles looking for gravestones you can't read. I have offered to do this for someone requesting a visit to a churchyard and hope I will find her more info that way. alice |
