Hi Shirley I have looked on the Oxon 1871 census and can find no Bunyans that fit. The best I found was: Living in Gt Haseley Thomas Bunning 33 Shepherd b Gt Haseley Mary Bunning Wife 32 b Denchworth No children with them I will check for children in case they are with another family. Regards Mary |

I am trying to find a Bunyan family consisting of Thomas (farm labourer) wife Mary Ann. age 32. The trouble is he changes his surname to Buning, Bunning and Bunnion. They may have dughters Sophia age 4 and Elizabeth age 1. They moved between Oxfordshire and Bucks and in 1881 were in the Union workhouse Thame Oxfordshire. Thanks for your offer. Shirley |

I realise Sherbourne is in Gloucs which is a shame as not within your range :) Oh well off to bed for now and I will start again with a fresh head tomorrow. Thank you again. Debbi xxxx |

Hi Debbi Glad I have been able to help,if you need any Ancestry lookups get in touch as I have full UK subscription. Sadly it was not me in Devon I was in Wales. If ever you get the chance to visit Taynton do go there,in my opinion it is one of the most beautiful Cotswold villages and it never has hordes of "innits". Good luck with your research Mary |

Hi Debbi Have checked out the Monk personel in Witney,Burford, Brize Norton and Asthall on the 1871 census and no heads of household were born in Sherbourne. Do you have any idea of when they emigrated to Oxon as 1871 may be too late. There are a lot of people with the surname Monk but they are scattered all around the Witney area in many different villages and to look them all up will take many hours. Any more info you can provide would be great. Regards Mary |
