Its just been so great to help everyone thats posted on this list so far! The resources at Rugby library are fairly good considering it is just a local library. I don't have any connection with the area so haven't had an excuse to go and play til now :) My Mum used to be the local and family history librarian there so she's forever throwing up other resources I could look at for you guys :) Thats how I ended up looking in the almanacs. Please feel free to ask for more lookups :) So many people on this site have been so helpful to me and its nice to give back a little :)

Sarah, Have just sent you a private message ... As you say, its surprising that one of my Noons could sign their own names - thought that they hadn't had much of an opportunity of an education as they tended to be labourers. Hi Sarah, could you look up parish register of "the church"(all I have) Wolstone to see if William Tew born 1824 married before Nov ll 1855 because he married again on that date and was a widower. His second wife was Jemima Bartlett father Arthur. William,his father also William,and her father were all labourers. Also if possible could you see if there are any dates for William Snr and Arthur. Jemima was 26 when she got married and they both lived in Burlsford. Also are there any dates for a Sarah Ann Tew who was a witness. Hope you can help, thanks Jan Hughes

Sorry to ask for more but it is only one thing.No-one knows where my William came from! He first appears at his marriage to Sarah in Banbury. But I don't think he came from Brinklow because they lived in Birmingham for a short while after marriage and then settled in Brinklow. His 2nd child Sarah was born in Brinklow in 1817. Could you just check if there were any Hen(d)ley births in Brinklow before hers? If not it goes someway toward my theory that William came from Birmingham.

Hi Sarah,sorry to be a nuisance but have just discovered that William TEW died in Dunchurch and present at death was his son William Arthur could you check and see if there was a brother Edward mentioned as he was my grandfather but I don`t recall a brother William ever being mentioned.Thanks a lot, Jan Hughes

Hi Sarah, Can i bother you again please? I am still tracing Noon(e) information and know that there were several Noons baptised in Dunchurch to Samuel and Ann Noon. Have found an Elizabeth(25/6/1797), Thomas 31/3/1799, Mary 8/2/1801 and William 1795...I wondered if there were any others between 1790 and 1803. I have also recieved(today) a letter saying that Samuel Noon died at Dunchurch 14 april 1803 - do you have access to these records , as this could provide me with an approx year of birth for him. Hope this is not too much to ask, Regards, Karen

Sorry I've been a bit unresponsive of late! Been training this week for a new job and got thrown in the deep end yesterday so it's all been a bit hectic! Fortunately am not in again until Tuesday so I *should* have time to do a little searching on Monday afternoon (no guarantees as have a few others things to do that day too) Karen - Having a few technical difficulties with scanner. Will hopefully sort them out ASAP so that I can send on that image. The other Noon lookups I'll add to my list :) Patricia - Am happy to do those lookups :) Not sure how readable the records will be, but I can try!

Janet - Am a little confused about what you'd like me to do! I can find all Tew marriages in Wolston between 1842 and 1855, thats not a problem! Unfortunately marriage records didn't list the ages of anyone but the bride and groom, so I won't be able to work out anything about William snr and Arthur from the parish marriages. Do you want me to look up William Tew's burial in Dunchurch parish records? If it is there, it will only have his name, age, address and date of burial. It will not have any additional data.

Ok am about to go have a quick look at some records in the local library. Have other things to do as well so won't be able to do all the lookups, but I'll see how much I get done.

Jan - Ok, well I looked up Wolston marriages between 1841 and 1855 in the end and the only William Tew I found was the one you already have. However, on the parish records it states that William's father's name was Joseph and that the couple were from Bretford (which is close to Wolstan). I'm going to try this one again and see if I can find a previous marriage at any of the other nearby churches such as Ryton on Dunsmore and Church Lawford. Will also try looking at Wolstan parish baptisms this afternoon to see if they had any children in Wolstan.

Patricia - I'm sorry but I couldn't find any Henley's (or Hendley's) between 1800 and 1817 in Brinklow :( The only similar surname was Hobley which I discounted so didn't write any of them down.

Karen - I know you've already got some of these but its just easier writing out all the info I found :) Heres all the Noon/Noone stuff I found in Dunchurch during that period 1791 Thomas the son of Samuel and Ann Noon of Thurlstone was buried August 28th 1793 William the son of Samuel and Ann Noon of Thurlston was baptised March 31st 1795 Samuel son of Samuel and Ann Noon was baptised January 10th 1797 Elizabeth daughter of Samuel and (this page wasn't scanned properly so the edge of the book is missing) Noone was baptised June 25th 1799 Thomas son of Samuel and Ann Noone was baptised March 31st 1801 Mary daughter of Samuel and Ann Noon was baptised February 18th 1803 Noon Son of Samuel and Ann was buried March 8th Noon Samuel was buried April 14th This is all the informaion I could find I'm afraid :(

Sarah, Many thanks. That is a sufficient answer for me. I suspected they did not settle in Brinklow until about 1817 and would have been the first Henleys there.

I know this is an old thread but i will try my luck anyway .Im looking for a John and Ellen Smith [nee Edden ] last known together 1901 attleborough Nuneaton .John a farm labourer with 7 children .John born 1856 woodford Halse Ellen Edden 1851 Eydon.
No trace after 1901 except John was down as next of kin for a son Willliam Edden Smith on his enlistment papers for 1913 living The Lynches Polesworth where William worked in coal mine .Don't know if Elllen was with him or had died .
Cannnot trace Willliam after being discharged 1916 i think with illl health .
