Hi Mary (I think I called you Linda last time?!-sorry) Thanks for trying to locate the Woodhouse & Hipkiss' for me. In 1901 the Hipkiss' were in Thornaby, Yorks, however I'm wondering if they may have been in Lancs in 1901 as 1 of the kids was born in Pendleton in 1886. I wonder if you woud be so kind as to recheck 1891 for Edith Elizabeth Hipkiss age 7 b.Thornaby, Yorks in Lancs. Thanks very much. Zoe, NZ |

Thanks for looking Mary, Unusually in that era they seemed to have moved all around the place which of course doesn't help especially with the old "Miss transcripton" about as well. Best wishes...Zoe, NZ |

Hi Mary, I have found some new names in my family tree to look-up. So wondering if you could have a look for me Please. Mary Ann Munday b 1854/55 Stoke Row Oxon. Married Thomas Stratford in 1879. On the 1881 census gives birth in Stoke Row, so not sure if that is right or not. I just got my Gt Grandmother's birth certificate in the post, this is where I got her name from. Trying to see who her parents were if possible, and did she have any siblings. Thanks for any help with this one, Mea. |

Hi June Limited success with your Sweet folks. Glastonbury is not a registration place which threw me a bit BUT I found the followin at Langport which is not a million miles fron Glastonbury: John Sweet Dec Qtr 1860 Langport 5c 811. I tried cross referencing using Hannah Cross but no match. This was on 1837online as I had some spare credit.Only about 20% of marriages for 1860 are on FreeBMD. Sorry not to be more positive Regards Mary |

Hi Deb I am sorry but I cannot find a place called Mickleton in Oxfordshire,I believe it to be in Gloucestershire. I have looked and searched the 1841 census for Oxon and cannot find Mickleton, where did you get your info that they were both living in Mickleton in 1841?Do you have written proof that is where they lived? Regards Mary |

Hi Deb Yes Kingham is in Oxon but a search of 1851 census did not show any of the Townsend family.Could they have moved back to Mickleton as it seems the mother is no longer with them. Have you any idea which workhouse Elizabeth may have been in ?Chipping Norton or Witney are the most likely if they had stayed in the area. sorry not more positive regards mary |

Hi Denise, Now I am really confused with regard to David Howlet's wife(wives). To try to clarify the situation I have checked who they were according to the censuses I have available and they are as follows: 1871 Louisa age 36 1881 Susan age 46 1891 Louisa age 60 1901 Louisa age 68 It seems to me that the Susan is a mistake and that the person I should be looking for a birth is Louisa Wharton born c1835,this will not be easy as the records for BMDs did not start until 1837,so it will have to be parish records, which I do not have.I will look on the 1841 census tomorrow to see if I can find her and her family. I will put a message on this thread Kind regards Mary |
