Hey Ellan thanks for those searchs you did. John Hamilton b 1860 in Dundee, Angus. Parents Alexander Hamilton and Jane (Jeffery). Other family members include Georgine b 1862 Mary b 1864 Andrew b 1866 Jane b 1871 James b 1873 Hope thats more information. The Margaret Paxton you searched for is mine (i think) but the family is not. The Norvals Archibald and Alice living together are Margarets parents i think. Could you do a seperate search for her? Mhairi This looks like 1/2 of the Hamilton family. Mum Jane, John, Gergina and Jane - ages all fit fine. But no idea where dad alexander, Andrew or James are! There's a possible here for Mary, but the age is 2 years out. I've looked for the rest separately, but no sign. I'll swop over cds in a minute and see if they're in the Glasgow/Edinburgh area. Rosalyn Sorry, I'm confused now. You asked me to look up Alexander and Joan born c. 1860. If they were married in 1865, I should be looking for much earlier birthdates. Also was Hannah Elizabeth really born 34 years after the marraige?? Not impossible I know, but unlikely. I'll have another look now for older Alexanders. Ellen.

Rosalyn This is the guy Anne found for you on the 1891 in the 1881 - but I'm pretty sure he's not yours. Having read your request on Anne's thread, I see that Alexander and Joan got married in 1885 not 1865 as above. So we are unlikely to find them together in 1881 - and they're unlikely to be as old as this guy.
